Glass Cockpit

This is my evolved system with the help of Stay Level Avionix. Started out with the SLAVX Glass Cockpit (G1000 with Honeycomb Alpha Yoke / Honeycomb Bravo) because of my upcoming G1000 flight training requirements (Commercial/Instrument). However, I needed to have ability to fly with steam gauges (C172s/PA28) with and without GPS as those are the airplanes available at my local airfield/club.

Based on my requirements, Stay Level Avionix built me a custom add-on panel (on left), that allowed me to put two Logitech Radio Panels and a RealSimGear G430. The side panel is modular so it recently got upgraded to support several Garmin instruments. Stay Level Avionix is great for customization and the custom panel is great for “future proofing” my setup. This configuration is ideal for my GA training as I get to use it with a G1000 but also allows me to fly a C172 with traditional steam gauges which is what I normally rent for GA. It supports Garmin G5, GNS430, and GTN650. In addition, my sim allows me to train with ForeFlight and try different techniques before I try them for the first time while flying.

Several months in the works, but the Sim is super immersive especially when using PilotEdge. The monitor was a tradeoff to offset some costs to the other devices, however for my configuration the ideal monitor would be a 43" display or ultra widescreen.

After seeing videos by Steve at Flight Chops and Chris at Angle Of Attack, I decided to look into a SLAVX panel to upgrade my home sim to prepare for my instrument rating. I reached out to Stay Level Avionix and told them what gear I had and this is what we came up with!

Stay Level Avionix did an amazing job with the design and provided exceptional customer service throughout the entire process. Being able to email back and forth to make sure we nailed it was awesome. He’s really dedicated to his customers and putting out the best avionics panels on the market.

Since I only had one RealSimGear G1000, we added the modular plate to cover up the hole until I can save up for the other one. I can put an iPad there or mount my phone if I want and it really keeps the panel looking clean while I save my pennies.

If you’re a home sim enthusiast, or a private pilot working on your instrument rating, nothing comes close to the quality and realism of a SLAVX panel! The ram mount and LED strip are super slick and add a great touch of realism AND functionality. Pair this with PilotEdge and nothing comes closer to real world flying!

I can’t say enough good things about this experience. Definitely a worthy investment. Not to mention the fact that all my pilot buddies are losing their mind over it and can’t wait to come try it out. If you’re on the fence about this type of investment, you won’t be disappointed with the quality of the product or the customer service. Top notch on ALL fronts.

Man, this cockpit is first rate. As is the service and shipping. Went with the Honeycomb yoke / throttle quadrant, and the SIMiONIC G1000's. Finally got it put together, and it's a pure joy.

The SLAVX panel is the perfect size. Everything wired together and bolted in, it's super simple to remove off a desk... unplug the power and usb, and loosen the knobs below the yoke, and throttle quadrant... voila. The lighting is a nice touch as well!

I have been looking for high end components to complete my motion sim rig dedicated to flight simulation. As a future private pilot student I settled with the Cessna 172S G1000. I have a G1000 suite including a PFD, MFD and radio panel. I tried a panel from a different company but build quality was just okay.

I decided to spend a little more and upgrade to the Glass cockpit Stay Level. It felt like I was just upgrading from a Toyota to an Audi. There is premium feel and build quality is the best you can (I could) find in the market. Stay Level Avionix service and support (not that I needed any) were cherries on the cake. Now I am considering a special build to recreate a fully loaded 172 s panel.

I knew from the moment I happened upon Stay Level Avionics that this is what I needed to tie my whole flight sim setup together. I was not disappointed in the least. On the contrary, from the quality of the panel, the first-class packing and shipping job and all the components fitting perfectly, it's a great value and worth every penny.

Perhaps the most important thing for my setup, is that my flight sim station is also my primary workstation. So, by Velcro-mounting a 7-port USB 3.0 hub to the rear of the SLAVX panel, I was able to create a completely self-contained avionics panel that allows me to convert from workstation to flight sim station and vice versa in under two minutes, literally 120 seconds, with a minimum of connections needed (1 USB, 1 USB power, 2 HDMI and 2 monitor power).

I did initially have trouble getting the brow LED lights to go on (which turned out to be nothing more than the LED strip being a tad finicky about aiming its remote), but Stay Level Avionix was super responsive and helpful in getting me (or my remote) pointed in the right direction. In short, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Outstanding product exceeded only by the outstanding customer service. The glass cockpit panel and G1000 panels (SIMiONIC) are very high quality and seem built to last. (I went with the SIMiONIC option for the portability). I reached out in February to get help tying together my mix of components into a custom glass panel cockpit, with RealSimGear G1000s, Redbird Flight controls and a mix of other switch and component panels. Not only did Stay Level Avionix put together a perfect panel, they even made suggestions on a couple of components that significantly improved the experience. There is a huge difference in flight sim experience when you can closely approximate the cockpit experience. My prior set up was a Frankenstein monster's mash and this panel turned it into a fantastic, integrated and much more useful experience for my training. I looked at and researched all the panels available before purchasing my SLAVX Panel and while it's not the cheapest, the quality is simply unmatched. Totally solid construction, tightly secures to the desktop and the trim along the top is excellent quality. I wish the panel in my *actual* aircraft was this good! The LED lights are color adjustable and dimmable though I almost always set to red. It tough to make everything on your sim work right all the time and with this panel, you'll never think twice about it.

Big thanks to Stay Level Avionix for making the process of ordering smooth. Received the panel five days before Christmas and I was very impressed by the build and quality, I didn't expect it to look like that.

Before I ordered the panel I wasn't too sure about the price but seeing it in person its worth every penny. The size is perfect, the colour is perfect, even all the screws were all labelled. Highly recommended.

Touch + Knobster

Assembling the panel was extremely easy: Everything fits perfect to the holes and everything was done in 15 minutes. I mounted everything onto a children‘s table because of the height -and because I had it left:-). I am considering to buy a table with adjustable height, because although it is mounted on a children’s table, the monitor is a little bit too high – long flights are not good for my neck.

The SLAVX panel comes with a RAM mount base, so I was able to attach my Elgato stream deck with it. I use the stream deck to change the cockpit views or take some small actions like to toggle the parking brake.

Flying with the SLAVX Touch mini is a completely different feeling than without. You can feel the imagination of sitting in the airplane. I love flying in the dawn. The panel has these colored lights installed. This adds some real atmosphere. With a small remote control, you can change the colors.

I love the air manager and the Knobster. At the moment I am flying a lot with the Cessna 172 in the classic version. Operating the Garmin G530 with the mouse is a pain, but with the Knobster and the touch monitors, it is fantastic. Thanks a lot to the folks who made the panels for air manager and the Garmin mod! The good thing about the touch monitors is the flexibility: If I want to fly another plane, this is possible as well.

If you are talented in building with wood, you may build a panel on your own and save some money, but I think it is hard to make it look so good. And you will not be able to make the wood as thin as is the metal here – this is an advantage because of the monitors behind. All together, I have nothing to criticize with the panel - the quality is really great. And last but not least the team from SLAVX is very kind.

All I can say is Thank You!!! The panel arrived in tip-top shape and has now become a “Work of Art” on my desktop. Very professional, Great Job! Well-constructed and worth every penny. Took a little while for me to decide whether or not to order this panel, but glad I did with no regrets.

Already had the Honeycomb Alpha/Bravo and two 15” touch displays ready to install when it arrived. The “Knobster” is a little tuff to get a hold of right now, but once that get’s installed, it will be icing on the cake! Just so you know, I’m an IT person at Delta Air Lines based in DTW. I took my time putting everything together getting all the right cabling lengths (USB, USB Hub, HDMI and Power Strip). Still need to tidy the wiring up a little bit with TLC, but after getting everything connected/configured I couldn’t help myself and got that panel up and flying unable to keep my hands off of it since!

Was going to go all the way with Flight Training until 9/11 put an abrupt end to it 20yrs ago already. Glad I at least was able to walk away from it as a Private Pilot. I’ve always played around with and had fun with MSFS and X-Plane for fun and learning. Discovering Air Manager, Touch Screen Displays, the Honeycomb Alpha/Bravo and putting all of it together in a Stay Level panel just took it to a very high level.

Turning the LED strip red for night flights also rocks! Just writing to let you know I’m very happy with my purchase and can’t wait to show it off to people I work with at the airport(s).

I work with some of the best-of-the-best in the airline business and have no problem giving you a thumbs up for quality work.

Stay Level Avionix was super helpful and responsive when it came to customizing the brackets for the monitors. The best thing about working with Stay Level Avionix is the team are personable and went out of their way to help me customize the measurements.

I am VERY happy with my new panel. For starters, the team took personal interest in making sure I got what I needed. I wanted to continue flying with steam gauges and my GTN 750/GNS 530, but also wanted an upgrade path if I ever migrated to the G-1000. The team designed a panel with two inserts, one for steam and the other for the G-1000... and it looks great. I was a little concerned that the flat screen on the steam panel would be too small for my Air Manager panels, but the team suggested a 17" screen that looks great. All in all, very happy and highly recommend these panels to anyone who wants to take your sim experience to the next level.

I first came across Stay Level about a year ago.  I was impressed with the obvious quality, relatively low profile, and the customization options of their flight panels.  However, as someone who prefers to fly a variety of GA aircraft, I found myself in a dilemma on deciding what current or customized panel configuration to go with.  Then I came across Air Manager by Sim Innovations and Russ Barlow.  Russ has published many YouTube videos on flight simulation and the advantages of using Air Manager.  One of his videos featured using two 15.6-inch touchscreen monitors in conjunction with two computers, Air Manager, and a clever device he invented called the Knobster that works with Air Manager.  I now had a solution for running any x-Plane 11 aircraft with a G1000 PFD MFD setup or aircraft with 430 GPS or 530 GPS.

I had Stay Level build me a customized panel that would accommodate a Yoko Yoke, a Saitek Multi-Panel to the right of the yoke, a Saitek Switch Panel to the left, a TQ6 Throttle that sits below the desk top, two Prechen 15.6-inch touch screen monitors with the Knobster between them, and two Saitek Instrument panels mounted vertically to the left of the 1st monitor.

The panel arrived in a well-packed box with all the parts needed to install all the various components which fit like a glove.  I highly recommend Stay Level flight panels to anyone who wants to take flight simulation to a higher level of realism.

Where to begin? Customer service, delivering the promise, high quality, lifetime product. I had too many options in my head of what to do, and Stay Level Avionix was instrumental (literally) in helping guide me through my flight simulation setup through the use of a purposefully built SLAVX Panel. After I had the desktopaviator.com components shipped to his facility directly, he was able to incorporate them into BOTH of my SLAVX panels without hesitation.

No one else is truly able to do what he is doing in this space, and his willingness and passion for happy customer’s is something of a past life experience. If you aren’t happy, Stay Level Avionix isn’t happy. I would purchase again in a heartbeat. Thank you Stay Level Avionix.

Got the panel today. I looks really nice. My tabletop will be done in a couple of days and I can start to put the pieces together. I hope that the RedBird components of the simulator work out as good as the Virtual Fly would have been.

I have been a simmer for decades, got my private pilot certificate in 2019, so and I was looking to upgrade my aged panel, to make more realistic, by using hardware for all controls rather than a mouse so it could help me with my instrument training and to practice emergency procedures.

I contacted Stay Level Avionix after watching some of their products online, I started conversations with Stay Level Avionix and I gave him a drawing of what I was looking for, a highly customized panel to fulfill my needs. They recreated a digital drawing of my design, and we started to have videoconferences, making modifications until we all were happy with the final design. They then started to build the panel. I had a chance to see some preliminary stages until the finalized product was ready.

I received my panel a few days later in a highly protected box, installed it and have been enjoying it ever since. The customer experience was amazing, I was always taking part of the decisions and the team worked with me until I was happy with the design. The quality of the panel is best in class, strong, all metal construction, a lot of attention to details. I am very happy with the results, I can finally say I have my dream panel. I looked through many options prior to calling them, including fully built simulators, but nobody will provide me with what I was looking for. I thank Stay Level Avionix for giving us simmers and the aviation community a unique option not found anywhere else.

Wrote to Stay Level Avionix as I had a very custom cockpit setup with existing ELITE hardware. Multiple monitors in the setup as well, Stay Level Avionix and his team were able to custom fabricate everything to exact dimensional specifications. Main panel arrived - all I can say is wow! Your attention to detail and quality are evident. Super impressed. Feeling great about the purchase (and entire experience working with you). I got so far as to install everything in the main panel, it all fit great (phew lol). Touch Bracket

I have purchased a Touch Bracket about a week ago to mount on my Honeycomb Alpha yoke. It came the next day. The product is superb. Fits the yoke like a glove. I put a monitor on it and now have a "glass" cockpit right in front of me.

A few days ago, I finally got my hands on the Honeycomb Bravo throttle. Wrote to Stay Level Avionix, since I live in the adjacent town from their shop and asked if I can pick it up. Thinking I would meet him tomorrow, instead, he surprised me by bringing it to my house himself. I mean, that is the type of service we used to get in the 50's, not in today's greedy corporate America :)

Stay Level Avionix is amazing and I am speechless from the quality of their work and their service. If you're in the market, I would completely, 100% recommend you get your Sim gear from them!!

I have finished building my simulator and the “touch” bracket is a key component to the set up. It mounts my WIMAXIT monitor perfectly on my Honeycomb Alpha Yoke. I can now run Air Manager on the touch screen and the Knobster is a great addition. The Honeycomb Bravo Throttle Quadrant completes the set up. I can interchange the Real Sim Gear GNS430 and GTN 650 in a couple of minutes and dismantle the whole set up in less than 5 minutes when my good lady wants to use the desk. I use TrackIR for VFR flying which works really well and avoids three monitors for the scenery. I had fantastic customer service from SLAVX who were very generous indeed. Keep up the great work :-) - thanks guys.

These units are amazing. They are a perfect fit for both the monitors and the fitment to my Honeycomb flight controls. It's obvious these are well thought out. All the needed screws and grommets are included. These are high quality and provide for a very sturdy mount with touch monitors. Excellent customer service and very fast delivery. Thank you.

I’m in the process of building my sim and after lots of searching it became clear the Stay Level touch bracket was the one to get. My real reason for this review is to share the incredible customer service and shipping experience I had. I ordered online late afternoon and literally had the bracket in my hands in less than 24hrs. Stay Level Avionix and team are incredible. I sent him an email on Thanksgiving afternoon - and he responded back that night. We had a call to discuss a Sim I'm looking to build. He gave some great advice that led me to start off by purchasing some Virtual Fly equipment (Yoko Yoke, Compass, Throttles) - he told me he would get them shipped out to me (from the manufacturer in Europe after sending me an invoice the next day (Black Friday)). I got the invoice mid-day on Friday, paid it - received an expected delivery date of Nov 29 - which I thought was incredible for shipping from Europe. Well - the packages arrived on Sunday afternoon - from Europe. Unbelievable. Order on Friday and delivery from Barcelona on Sunday. Stay Level Avionix clearly has an in with these guys. So far the process of designing and building my sim has been exceptional - these guys really love this stuff and care about doing things right.

I decided to expand my Virtual Fly avionics with the addition of the Switcho Trims panel. Placed the order on a Friday, and the product was delivered to my door in Arizona the following Wednesday afternoon. Quite impressive since it drop shipped out of Barcelona! Stay Level Avionix communication was fantastic - got regular updates on the order / delivery status. I'm thrilled to finally have physical knobs and buttons for things like flaps, cowl flaps, landing gear, and parking brake.

Virtual-Fly Hardware - Various Additional

I previously used the VirtualFly Composs on an unstable desktop tripod and ended up destroying my screen behind it... Now the Composs is sitting VERY stable on the StayLevel Composs mount on top of my StayLevel glass cockpit. Could not be more happy about this solution!
